KENILWORTH, UK – The Holiday Inn Kenilworth-Warwick was set to host the 2025 English Chess Championships from Friday 18th July to Monday 21st July, bringing together some of the finest minds in British chess. Organised by the English Chess Federation (ECF), the event will include three key tournaments: the English Open Championship, the English Women’s Championship, and the English Women’s U1700 Tournament.

Across four intense days, players will battle over seven rounds to claim prestigious national titles. Entry is restricted to those born in England or resident in the country for the past 12 months, with all competitors also required to be ECF Gold members or higher. Players holding a FIDE registration must be registered under ENG to participate.
The championships serve as a highlight in the national chess calendar, offering a platform for elite players and emerging talent to demonstrate their strategic prowess.
