A.M.B. Ekanayake wins the 2025 Sri Lanka National Senior Chess Championship

 The Sri Lanka National Senior Chess Championship 2025, organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, was successfully held from July 18 to 21 at the Sports Medicine Auditorium, located in front of Sri Lanka Cricket HQ. The event saw top veteran players from across the country compete in a 7-round Swiss-system tournament, with FIDE international rating implications.

With classical time control and high stakes, this event not only celebrated experience and skill but also honored the lifelong dedication of Sri Lanka’s senior chess players.
