The 2025 Marshall Summer Invitational (also known as the Marshall Summer Six‑Day GM/IM Invitational) is a prestigious round‑robin chess tournament hosted by the Marshall Chess Club in New York City. This event will be held on July 8- 13, 2015 at Marshall Chess Club, 23 West 10th Street, NYC.
There are two main sections:
GM/IM Section (often called "GM A")
A top-tier invitational featuring elite players. The starting lineup included grandmasters like Robby Kevlishvili (2549), Viktor Matviishen (2540), Emilio Cordova (2513), plus several IMs including Liam Putnam (2462) and Sam Narayanan (2418)
IME Section (IM/E – Invitational Masters/Experts)
An IM-level invitational. The starting roster features notable masters and IMs such as:
- IM Dagur Ragnarsson (2365)
- IM Eshaan Hebbar (2217)
- FM Haari Muthukumar (2301)
- CM Luc Hoffman (2219)
Others including Lev Shangin, William Safranek, Bryan Weisz, and WIM Davaakhuu Munkhzul
What is Marshall Chess Club?
The Marshall Chess Club, founded in 1915 by U.S. champion Frank J. Marshall, is a premier nonprofit chess institution based at 23 W 10th Street, Greenwich Village, New York City. One of the oldest and most prestigious chess clubs in the United States, it occupies two floors of a historic brownstone built in 1832 and has been a certified gold affiliate of the U.S. Chess Federation since incorporation in 1922
