Big congratulations to Sethumlee Devhara Palliyage of Sanghamiththa Balika Vidyalaya, Galle, who was named The Most Outstanding Youth Chess Player – Girl (2024) at the inaugural Chess Excellency Awards 2025, organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka and held on June 1st at BMICH.
Adding to her triumphs, Sethumlee was also awarded the prestigious Women’s Candidate Master (WCM) title, following her exceptional performance at the Asian Zonal Chess Championship 3.2 (Women) in March 2025.
A proud moment not just for her school, but for Sri Lanka’s rising chess stars. Well done, Sethumlee!
